ABOUT THE AMERICAN KAYAKING ASSOCIATION
The American Kayaking Association’s (AKA) primary focus is in providing the most current and relevant information regarding the sport of kayaking. As American Canoe Association (ACA) Certified Instructors, safety is essential, and is conveyed throughout all Safety Training Courses, Instructional Videos and How to Guides covering the different types of kayaks, their use, and which may be best suited for you.
The AKA’s main goal is to work closely with National, Regional and Local organizations in an effort to introduce educational outlets and tools, in order to better serve their communities by providing more accessible waterway and conservation workshops geared toward each unique environment, consequently creating awareness, stewardship, and economic growth within the community.
AKA also works with charitable organizations and has participated in fund raisers such as “Kayak for A Cure” and Children’s Hospital Annual Duckie Races. In addition, the AKA has acted as water safety patrol for various festivals and events within the Central Ohio market. In conjunction with these charitable organizations, we have been able to raise funds for children’s cancer research and raise awareness within the communities they serve.
However, we can’t do it without YOU! The American Kayaking Association has recently obtained it’s EIN# 81-3954265 501(c)(3) Certification and are currently accepting donations. These donations will allow the AKA to widen its reach through both education and volunteer work.
